Hawkins Priday Ltd staff

Kelvin Alexander FCCA
Managing Director

Initially employed as a Manager of Hawkins Priday in November 1998, Kelvin became a Partner of the firm in January 2003 and subsequently became Managing Director in 2010. In addition to obtaining a Practicing Certificate from ACCA at the first attempt, he is also a Registered Auditor and the firm’s Senior Statutory Auditor.

Kelvin is very much a local man having lived in Herefordshire all his life and is keen to support local owner-managed businesses with their specific needs and future plans. He is pleased to be supported by a professional and enthusiastic team who share his desire to help our clients meet and solve each of their own unique set of challenges and demands.

As his football days are well and truly behind him, when not in the office, you will probably find Kelvin either on a golf course trying to reduce his handicap; or on a ski-slope with a snowboard strapped to his feet trying to beat his fastest time; or simply enjoying a pint in his local.

Ruth Alexander

Ruth started working for Hawkins Priday in 2002, in conjunction with running her own book-keeping business.

In her role as fellow Director of the Company, she helps manage the smooth running of the Practice along with the Hawkins Priday team. She also brings with her an extensive experience in book-keeping, specializing in Sage accounts and Payroll, but is now developing the team’s expertise in other Cloud based software to ensure that the Practice is at the forefront of the “Making Tax Digital” era.

Due to injury (and old age) her hockey playing days are definitely over, so now in her spare time she plays ‘lazy hockey’ along with her husband.  She also loves swimming, reading and going on holidays!

Food love : Cheese (especially with a glass of port)
Food hate : Kidney (in fact – anything offal)

Adam Kusnierek CA
Client Manager

Adam joined Hawkins Priday in July 2020 as a client manager. He had been working as a client manager within Hereford over the previous three years, working with a wide range of local, owner-managed businesses. Before that time Adam worked in the Assurance sector for a Big Four firm based in London, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant qualification. Adam obtained his BSc (Hons) Degree in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University in 2014, and has also been working towards his Chartered Tax Advisor qualification.

Adam oversees a portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and companies and is keen to get involved in the future planning and development of his clients. He enjoys adding value wherever possible and providing a service that goes far beyond standard compliance.

Adam enjoys spending time with his partner and two young children, and going on family holidays whenever possible. In his spare time plays basketball and golf (using the term ‘plays’ very loosely with regards to golf).

With her extensive knowledge in these sectors, she ably helps clients make the transition to the MTD era, as well as overseeing the Payroll and auto-enrolment requirements for clients when needed. When she has a gap in her working schedule, Melanie is also able to help throughout the Practice by working on Limited Company, Charities and sole trader accounts.

Since coming back from maternity leave in October 2017, Hayley has taken on a new role within the Practice, gaining extensive experience in preparing partnership and sole trader accounts, and Tax Returns. She has especially developed her skills in the completion of Tax Returns, which has become her niche within the Practice. However, should she have any spare working time, she is also able to turn her hand to payroll and bookkeeping duties when needed.

Since starting Zoe has taken on a variety of jobs and tasks with no hesitation and an eagerness to learn. Her hand has been turned to payroll processing and tax return preparation. In her first month at Hawkins Priday, Zoe had undertaken her Quickbooks training and successfully completed the Pro Advisor examination.

During her spare time, Zoe is a keen member of Young Farmers, and has recently taken on the chairmanship of the Junior Forum within the County Committee. Whilst she is not busy with these roles you will find her on the back of a horse participating in local trials or in a showjumping arena. Lisa Franzen
Bookkeeping Assistant

Lisa joined the team in November 2019 after spending 10 years in the Hospitality Industry. She started her further education with a BTEC in Business, completed various hospitality courses, including Front Office, Team Leading, Hospitality Management and Revenue Management. During her work in hospitality, she became more involved and interested in accounts and management. Lisa is very much looking forward to putting her studies into a much more ‘hands on’ role at Hawkins Priday.

Lisa’s three sisters are all in the hospitality industry, so she’s the first to take a step into a world of accountancy. In her spare time, she’s helping out with her family run pub, visiting new places or stepping over bricks and plaster in her ever improving home.
