Meet the team responsible for the work done here at Hawkins Priday.
Tax Return Manager
Head of Bookkeeping
Initially employed as a Manager of Hawkins Priday in November 1998, Kelvin became a Partner of the firm in January 2003 and subsequently became Managing Director in 2010. In addition to obtaining a Practicing Certificate from ACCA at the first attempt, he is also a Registered Auditor and the firm’s Senior Statutory Auditor.
Kelvin is very much a local man having lived in Herefordshire all his life and is keen to support local owner-managed businesses with their specific needs and future plans. He is pleased to be supported by a professional and enthusiastic team who share his desire to help our clients meet and solve each of their own unique set of challenges and demands.
As his football days are well and truly behind him, when not in the office, you will probably find Kelvin either on a golf course trying to reduce his handicap; or on a ski-slope with a snowboard strapped to his feet trying to beat his fastest time; or simply enjoying a pint in his local.

Ruth started working for Hawkins Priday in 2002, in conjunction with running her own book-keeping business.
In her role as fellow Officer of the Company, she helps manage the smooth running of the Practice along with the Hawkins Priday team. She also brings with her an extensive experience in book-keeping, specializing in Sage accounts, but has now developed her skills and the team’s expertise in other Cloud based software, such as Quickbooks to ensure that the Practice is at the forefront of the new era of MTD compliance.
Due to injury (and old age) her hockey playing days are definitely over, so now in her spare time she enjoys a round of golf along with her husband. She also loves swimming, reading, cycling and especially loves going on holidays!
Food love : Cheese (especially with a glass of port)
Food hate : Kidney (in fact – anything offal)

When she has a gap in her working schedule, Melanie is also able to help throughout the Practice by working on Limited Company, Charities and sole trader accounts.
When she’s not at work Melanie runs a Guide Unit and a Senior Section unit and tries to get to the gym and Zumba once a week.
